Dim,
Either I don't understand that article or it makes no sense..............

Hypothetical, Applied Physics???
Sounds like an oxymoron to me.....lol

Since when has the cost of moving had any real impact on migration of people?
People move (migrate) due to necessity, hopes and dreams......(In my opinion)
Not so much for any other reason.
For example....most people who migrated to America, did so with nothing more than Hope and Dreams alone.
Hopes and Dreams of making a better life for themselves.
They left other parts of the world which STIFLED their Hopes and Dreams and adapted to America to FREE themselves up to pursue their Hopes and Dreams.

Check out this (Hypothetical, Applied Science) for example:
Countries currently Stifled by Stifling Politics and Policy are getting away from it and changing those conditions for themselves.
Countries currently Not Stifled by Stifled Politics and Policy are letting themselves be Stifled by them.
I wonder why that is?

They will migrate such as from India to escape heat due to extreme global warming . Migration dictated by changing climate . They are fufilling their "dreams" of a cooler climate more water more power etc and not dropping dead of heat instead . So a climate crisis would kill them . And they consider surviving and not dying due to extreme heat a necessity . 8-x 8-x 8-x

America is not a small country it is one of the largest countries on the planet. It is 1/3 of a continent. Compare it to other countries and then compare the opportunities of freedom and security.

That's great, now apply climate and jobs. Not a whole lot of people live in Northern Canada for a reason, same as not a whole lot of people live in Wyoming and North Dakota. Neither has anything to do with climate change. The north is little populated and very cold. The United States holds the worlds largest economy which is why it holds the worlds largest immigration. Get back to me why immigrants move to Wyoming.
