This link is about feral children, children raised by animals. Were you as surprised as me that most children did not fare well once rescued?

not really surprised, it can be difficult to make those adjustments, their beginnings go very deep

Thanks mom, I forgot to paste, lol, I went back and pasted also. I watched Blue Lagoon last night, sort of a similar thread about being afraid to go back to society. One of my favorite movies "The Shawshank Redemption" shows the old man in jail that gets released and ultimately kills himself because he just can't adjust.

that is one of my favorite movies too, the freedom of the outside was too much for him..... it can be very difficult for them, it gets so ingrained...... did you ever watch Greystoke?

Pop out

Hi peeps, I don't think I saw these movies. Do they delve into this topic in a funny way or serious?

Nell is about a young woman who was raised by a mother in the deep woods who had a serious speech inpediment, caused by a stroke. She had never been around another human being her entire life. Her mother passed and a doctor found her. They could not understand her, and it is about the Doctor and another therapist who works with severally disabled children. And how they learn and uncover her speech/language. And how they want to slowly bring her out into the real world. The Doctor wants to leave her alone, and the 'authorities' decide she needs help. It ends really really well. Great Movie
Nell wasn't really feral. Just soo soo innocent about even such things as electricty, indoor pluming and all the other things we take for granted.

Not at all, most children that plains indians took in (no matter how they were taken in) never adjusted or like going back to white or hispanic way of life.
