So we're scheduled for a termite inspection in a few days. I'm not feeling the whole cleaning house thing. My partner said that when they had an inspection, the guy never came in the house. I'm told that he has to have access to the water heater out in the garage for some reason.

Do they have to come in the house or not?

for an inspection you dont have to leave the house, you leave for a fumigation....you shouldnt have to clean for them, just bag and or remove food, plants and pets..

they should have access to the inside as well as the outside of the house, and they should check for subterranean termites as well

we did one about last year, they sure are a pain....

Visual inspections are ascertained by crawling under the house to determine visual signs of an infestation. Traps and baits can also be utilized to determine the presence of these critters. If you own your home, you make time for this. Termites can destroy your home and at the least render it very costly to repair. Termite preventative measures also add to the value of your home and make it more attractive to would be buyers. What state are you in? The inspection should'nt take long at all.

Maybe this will help............... @};-

Termite Inspection Questions

•What does a termite inspection entail?
◦A termite inspection is a visual inspection of the readily accessible areas of a home for evidence of wood-destroying insects (WDI) and wood-destroying organisms (WDO). The inspector will visually inspect the entire interior of a home (including accessing and entering any sub-space such as basements and crawlspaces) and exterior of the property. In areas where Drywood termites are prevalent, and in houses where there are no sub-areas, the attic may also be accessed and inspected. After the inspection has been performed, the findings are reported on the applicable/appropriate form.

For inspection they have to come inside the house to detect the termites and also inspect the house from outside. You just have to remove your pets, food away from the house until they inspect your home.

Hello ThatGayConservative,

Termites are scary because they can cause extensive damage before you ever realize you have a pest problem. They eat wood from the inside out, so their presence is hard to detect unless you know what to look for. Everything will look solid and sturdy until your porch starts listing to the left or collapses completely. Well, it's not quite that bad. Termites actually work pretty slowly, especially when you consider that some nests can harbor hundreds of thousands of hungry mouths to feed.
