Tsar (Tzar, Czar, or Csar[1] Bulgarian цар, Russian: About this sound царь (help·info), Ukrainian: цар) is a title used to designate certain European Slavic monarchs or supreme rulers. As a system of government, it is known as Tsarism. The term is derived from the Latin word Caesar, which meant "Emperor" in the European medieval sense of the term- a ruler who claims the same rank as a Roman emperor, with the approval of another emperor or a supreme ecclesiastical official (the Pope or the Ecumenical Patriarch).

The coca leaf was, and still is, chewed almost universally by some indigenous communities. The remains of coca leaves have been found with ancient Peruvian mummies, and pottery from the time period depicts humans with bulged cheeks, indicating the presence of something on which they are chewing.[72] There is also evidence that these cultures used a mixture of coca leaves and saliva as an anesthetic for the performance of trepanation.
