We have a new neighbor whose dog had been barking at everything that moved, it must be their way of establishing their new territory...!!! But sometimes at night I wanted to break out the boy´s slingshot... !!! GoodLuck and take care of your dog...ya never know who the new neighbors are...!!!

Z' I really don't mind the initial bark because you never know when it may be justifiable (as in watch dog) but I do want him to stop when I say stop so I can check out the situation from there. It takes time but he is gettig better at learning when, how much or if he should bark. Patience is key but not all dogs can be trained. So far so good with mine. Too bad they can't already be trained but somebody has to do it. They don't just come home with you pre-trained. Not usually anyway. My dog and I have kept numerous racoons out of the garbage so far....lol..........know mean?

There is some Dog Show on TV where this guy works miracles with unruly dogs... I don´t know what the name of the show is but this guy uses basic BF Skinner type Operant Conditioning... I watch it now and again to see how to deal with some of my kids unruly friends...narf... but if I had a dog I would definetly watch the show regularly...!!! When and if I see it again I´ll be sure to take a mental note of the show title and post here for ya...!!!

The trick is to teach him when to bark and to stop instantly, when I want him to. Sometimes it is good he barks other times it can be annoying.
We moved and it has him a little screwed up but he's learning.....lol He's a pretty smart dog ................I've seen some pretty annoying dogs that never learn. Treats help. That and being consistant with him. He's learning well with me but I need to teach the rest of the family how to get him to understand them. It's more about training both the owner and the dog.........Oh my. There is a time to bark and a time to be quiet.
